IQVIA is seeking a dedicated Pre-Analytical Services Associate to support laboratory operations within its Valencia, CA facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate receipt, handling, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens, contributing directly to the reliability of clinical research and diagnostics.


Shift Details

Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM


Position Overview

The Pre-Analytical Services Associate will support day-to-day laboratory operations by managing specimen intake, documentation, storage, and shipment processes. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced laboratory environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and open consignments and clinical sample shipments.

  • Conduct quality checks of patient information forms and escalate discrepancies to senior personnel.

  • Dispose or recycle kit shipping materials in accordance with facility guidelines.

  • Perform secondary verification of shipping materials to ensure no specimens are left behind.

  • Prepare clinical specimens for long-term storage or client shipment.

  • Support sample disposition activities and maintain detailed documentation.

  • Respond to after-hours alarms and perform assigned critical tasks when required.

  • Assist in maintenance of equipment, inventory tracking, and workstation organization.

  • Perform administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by management.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).

  • Prior experience in laboratory operations, specimen handling, logistics, or warehouse environments is preferred.

  • Basic computer proficiency.

  • Ability to follow structured workflows, reporting procedures, and safety guidelines.

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.


Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring close visual attention.

  • Familiarity with specimen handling, shipping protocols, and inventory practices.

  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to regulatory and safety compliance.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients.

  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

Compensation

Annual Base Pay Range:
USD 24,400 – 50,900

Actual pay is determined by several factors including experience, education, skills, and geographic location. Additional incentives, bonuses, and benefits may be provided based on the role.
