ICON plc, a global leader in healthcare intelligence and clinical research, is seeking an experienced Power BI Visualization Programmer to join its Clinical Data Management team in Bengaluru or Chennai. This office-based opportunity is designed for senior professionals with strong expertise in clinical data analytics, dashboard development, Power BI visualization, and large-scale clinical data integration.
This role will serve as a Clinical Data Transformation Lead, driving innovation in clinical dashboards and data visualization to support global development functions including Clinical Science, Precision Medicine, Pharmacometrics, Imaging, and Business Data Management (BDM).
The Power BI Visualization Programmer will design and implement advanced clinical dashboards that enhance data review, cleaning, oversight, and operational decision-making across global clinical trials.
The role focuses on leveraging data from the Scientific Data Lake, building scalable data models, and delivering real-time, actionable insights that improve clinical trial efficiency, compliance, and data integrity.
Lead development of advanced clinical dashboards, including:
Clean Patient Trackers
Audit Trail Insights
Data Quality Dashboards
Operational & Site Performance Dashboards
Medical Monitoring Dashboards
Enable enhanced visibility across global development programs.
Deliver actionable insights to support clinical oversight and strategic decision-making.
Source and integrate data from the Scientific Data Lake.
Design scalable data models optimized for querying and visualization.
Implement robust data validation routines to ensure data integrity and consistency.
Align datasets with clinical business requirements and regulatory standards.
Optimize query performance for large clinical datasets.
Implement caching strategies and data aggregation techniques.
Conduct load testing and performance tuning to ensure scalability across global studies.
Ensure dashboards support real-time data processing and responsiveness.
Develop reusable visualization components and maintain a standardized component library.
Ensure compliance with clinical data standards (CDISC) and regulatory requirements (GCP, GDPR, HIPAA).
Support automation initiatives in clinical analytics workflows.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in clinical data analytics, clinical programming, or data visualization within a clinical research environment.
Proven expertise in developing enterprise-level dashboards and KPIs for clinical trial oversight.
Hands-on experience working with:
Scientific Data Lakes
Clinical data pipelines
Data integration and automation frameworks
Experience supporting global clinical development functions.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Data Science
Statistics
Computer Science
Bioinformatics
Or related discipline
Advanced certifications in data programming or clinical data science are advantageous.
Advanced proficiency in:
Power BI (primary requirement)
Tableau (advantageous)
Strong programming skills in:
Python or R
SQL
Strong understanding of:
Clinical trial processes
CDISC standards
ICH-GCP guidelines
GDPR and HIPAA compliance
Experience in data modeling, validation, and performance optimization.
