Job Description:

As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations globally, Fortrea operates four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US. We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment in Madison, WI.

This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to support clinical trials involving various study types including:

  • Ascending dose

  • First-in-human

  • Food effect

  • Drug-to-drug interaction studies

You’ll work closely with leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies during critical early stages of drug development—contributing to therapies that can touch lives worldwide.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in receipt, storage, packaging, disposition, and retention of API and IMP.

  • Maintain complete records related to pharmaceutical materials.

  • Prepare doses and assist in dispensing and labeling.

  • Manufacture/assemble as needed under supervision.

  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and supply maintenance of the pharmacy.

  • Attend study meetings and assist Pharmacist/Study Lead with sponsor interactions.

  • Maintain compliance with GMP/GCP and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • May be cross-trained in study operations tasks.


Requirements:

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (recommended)

  • 1–2 years of pharmaceutical experience (recommended)

  • Preferred: Direct hospital pharmacy technician experience, especially with sterile preparation.

  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
