Position Summary

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to support clinical trials by assisting in pharmaceutical operations within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You'll work on early-phase research studies and help ensure Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) are managed, prepared, and dispensed in accordance with protocols, regulations, and quality standards.

This position is on-site at our Madison, WI clinic.


Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will:

Pharmaceutical Operations

  • Assist in receipt, storage, packaging, disposition, and retention of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and IMPs

  • Prepare and assist in dose preparation under supervision

  • Assist with label generation, manufacturing/assembly/dispensing instructions

  • Maintain control of pharmacy inventory and ensure continued stock availability

  • Maintain appropriate pharmacy cleanliness and organization

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to GMP, GCP, and study protocols

  • Understand and follow procedures for all assigned clinical trial protocols

  • Maintain accurate, complete records related to all pharmaceutical processes

  • Attend study meetings as required

  • Support Sponsor interactions as needed

Cross-Functional & Administrative Support

  • Maintain contact with other departments related to pharmaceutical supplies

  • May be cross-trained in other study operations tasks

  • Perform additional duties as needed or assigned


Requirements & Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Pharmacy Technician Registration in the state of Wisconsin

Preferred:

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification

  • 1–2 years of pharmaceutical or clinical research experience

  • Prior hospital pharmacy or sterile preparation experience is strongly preferred

Additional Considerations:

  • Equivalent education/experience may be accepted in lieu of specific certification

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to dynamic, high-priority work environments

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
