Pharmacist - Outpatient Clinic on California Coast

Overview:
A beautiful opportunity for a Pharmacist at a $35 million facility located on the California coast. The clinic offers a generous compensation package, great benefits, and a welcoming environment serving a Tribal community. This is a Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM position with no immunization administration or drive-throughs like retail. The role is loan repayment eligible and includes retirement matching and a sign-on bonus. The clinic offers a holistic approach to patient care with a close-knit community atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medications and provide patient consultations as needed.
  • Advise medical and pharmacy staff on medication selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
  • Monitor patient records for drug interactions and ensure safety.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure compliance with regulations (including 340b compliance and controlled medications).
  • Assist with training pharmacy technicians and manage pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Director.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to resolve concerns regarding prescriptions and patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacist Level I: Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, with at least 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Pharmacist Level II: Requires 4+ years of pharmacy experience, ideally with some experience at UIHS.
  • Valid California Pharmacist License and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Ability to work well with American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations and understand cultural sensitivity.
