Job Description:

Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced community pharmacist to join a highly respected retail pharmacy in Fortuna, CA. This is a great opportunity for pharmacists looking to gain more experience or take their career to the next level.


Compensation and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Dispensing:

    • Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications.
    • Verify prescription orders for accuracy and potential drug interactions.
    • Label medications clearly and provide counseling on usage, dosage, and side effects.
  2. Patient Counseling:

    • Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, addressing their questions and concerns.
    • Educate patients about medications, side effects, and drug-food interactions.
    • Promote medication adherence and safe use.
  3. Health and Wellness:

    • Provide advice on over-the-counter medications.
    • Administer vaccinations and other clinical services.
    • Conduct health screenings and preventive health counseling.
  4. Inventory Management:

    • Maintain inventory levels of prescription and OTC medications.
    • Order and receive medications, ensuring stock availability.
    • Monitor expiration dates and dispose of outdated medications.
  5. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Adhere to state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate patient records.
    • Participate in continuing education to stay updated on pharmacy practices.
  6. Teamwork and Collaboration:

    • Work closely with pharmacy technicians and healthcare professionals.
    • Supervise and train pharmacy technicians.
    • Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current state pharmacy license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology.
