Job Description

Wharton Pharmacy in Wharton is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical care, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of controlled substances.
  • Oversee and train pharmacy staff to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage patient care effectively.
  • Maintain inventory levels and manage stock to prevent shortages and overstock.
  • Handle insurance claims processing and reimbursement efficiently.
  • Address and resolve patient inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.

Job Requirements

  • Must-Have: A valid state-required pharmacist license.
  • Must-Have: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
  • Experience with inventory management and cost-saving measures.
  • Proven track record of managing a pharmacy team effectively.
