Patient Care Technician (MedSurg / Pulmonary GI) – Full-Time, Day Shift – Augusta, GA

Job Overview

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our Pulmonary GI Medical-Surgical Unit at the Augusta Downtown campus. This is a full-time day shift position (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) within one of our high-volume, fast-paced clinical units. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical staff.

  • Support patients across all age groups, from newborns to older adults.

  • Perform clinical procedures and treatments as per hospital policies and clinical guidelines.

  • Ensure safe, accurate use of medical equipment relevant to the department.

  • Maintain patient comfort, hygiene, mobility, and overall care standards.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote efficient patient flow and quality outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 months of acute care bedside patient care experience in a hospital or healthcare facility is required.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

  • Certification from an accredited Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program preferred.
