Patient Care Technician – MedSurg / Pulmonary GI (Day Shift, Augusta, GA)
Job Overview
Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join its Pulmonary GI Medical-Surgical Unit at the Augusta Downtown campus. This is a full-time day shift position (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) within one of the hospital’s high-volume, fast-paced units. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and demonstrates dedication to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, including nurses and physicians.
Support patients across all age groups, from newborns to older adults, in accordance with hospital policies.
Assist with treatments, procedures, and use of clinical equipment appropriate to the unit.
Maintain accurate patient records, monitor patient conditions, and report changes to the clinical team.
Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, and safety, while promoting a positive healthcare experience.
Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
Minimum 6 months of acute care bedside patient care experience in a hospital or clinical facility required.
Licenses & Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Certification from an accredited Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program preferred.
