📋 Job Overview:

Fortrea is seeking experienced Ophthalmology Clinical Research Associates (CRA II or Sr. CRA) to support its Full Service Outsourcing (FSO) team. This role involves monitoring, managing, and coordinating clinical trial activities in accordance with GCP, protocol requirements, and regulatory standards, primarily for ophthalmology-focused studies.


🧭 Key Responsibilities:

🔍 Monitoring & Site Management

  • Conduct all types of site visits (pre-study, initiation, monitoring, and close-out)

  • Ensure site compliance with protocols, informed consent, and regulatory guidelines

  • Monitor subject safety and verify data integrity (CRFs vs. source documentation)

  • Manage study files and perform data review, query generation, and resolution

  • Support Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reporting and follow-up

📊 Project Coordination & Oversight

  • Serve as Local Project Coordinator (as assigned)

  • Act as a local point of contact for client communications

  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams as per project needs

  • Conduct feasibility assessments when requested

👩‍🏫 Training & Mentorship

  • Assist with training and co-monitoring of new team members

🧠 Other Duties

  • Perform all additional tasks assigned by management

  • Maintain quality standards and timelines in a high-paced environment


🎓 Qualifications:

Education:

  • University/college degree or certification in a relevant health profession (e.g., nursing, life sciences, pharmacy) from an accredited institution

Experience:

  • 1–3+ years of clinical monitoring experience

  • Previous experience in Ophthalmology clinical trials is strongly preferred

  • Comfortable working in:

    • Fast-paced, highly regulated environments

    • Tech-driven platforms (electronic data capture, remote monitoring, etc.)

    • Cross-functional and team-based structures
