Manager, Clinical Data Management

Job Summary

IQVIA is seeking an experienced Manager, Clinical Data Management to lead and support a team of Data Management professionals in delivering high-quality clinical databases and data management outputs that meet customer expectations. This role requires strong leadership skills, advanced technical expertise in Data Management processes, and the ability to ensure operational excellence across multiple global projects.


Key Responsibilities

Data Management Leadership

  • Provide expert review and direction for the development of Clinical Data Management deliverables, including CRF/eCRF design, database setup, validation specifications, programming, and Data Management Plans.

  • Offer technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders to resolve challenges and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Ensure team members receive appropriate training and maintain compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and project requirements.

  • Mentor and guide team members to strengthen their Data Management, systems, and drug development expertise.

Team Management & Performance Oversight

  • Conduct structured bi-monthly meetings with direct reports to review project timelines, deliverable status, risk mitigation plans, utilization metrics, training progress, compliance, and career development.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and promote global consistency within the team.

  • Collaborate closely with project leads to plan project workflows, staffing requirements, technology needs, and workload distribution.

Operational Oversight & Communication

  • Communicate key messages from leadership effectively to team members and escalate issues or opportunities as needed.

  • Ensure appropriate coverage and resource planning during staff absences or transitions.

  • Participate in bid defenses, kick-off meetings, RFIs, RFPs, and budgeting activities.

  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring team readiness and compliance.

Project & Business Support

  • Provide operational insights for proposals and scope-of-work documents.

  • Contribute to action plans that support resource optimization and performance accountability.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and ensure high-quality Data Management deliverables.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical, Biological, Mathematical Sciences, Nursing, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including hands-on Data Management and proven people management experience.

  • Strong expertise in Data Management processes, systems, and clinical development workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality Data Management deliverables across complex studies.

  • Understanding of basic project financials, including forecasting, EAC, burn-rate monitoring, and identifying out-of-scope activities.
