We are seeking a Medical Writer – Specialist to join our Omnicom Health Group in the Creative Services business unit, driving high-quality medical content creation and scientific communications.


Role Overview:
The Specialist Medical Writer will oversee end-to-end content submission processes, ensuring all medical content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with brand and AMA guidelines. This role involves mentoring junior team members, performing quality checks, conducting literature reviews, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver timely and high-impact medical communications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and review medical and scientific content for digital and print media targeting healthcare professionals, patients, and consumers.

  • Ensure content aligns with brand strategy, creative brief, tone, and style guidelines.

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches, fact-checking, and reference management.

  • Mentor and guide junior writers, ensuring quality and consistency of deliverables.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address content-related queries and facilitate seamless submission processes.

  • Maintain content matrices, core claims documentation, and support omnichannel marketing efforts.

  • Participate in client meetings, ideation sessions, and proposal development as needed.

  • Manage multiple tasks and projects, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of deliverables.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Science, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field (or equivalent).

  • 8–12 years of experience in medical writing, scientific communications, or healthcare content creation.

  • Strong scientific acumen with the ability to simplify complex medical concepts.

  • Familiarity with AMA guidelines, medical writing standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven ability to mentor junior team members and manage end-to-end content processes.


Essential Skills & Tools:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) and reference management tools (EndNote, PubMed).

  • Familiarity with Veeva Vault or similar content management systems preferred.

  • Certifications such as CMPP (Certified Medical Publication Professional) or AMWA Medical Writing Certification are a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments, manage priorities, and take ownership of deliverables.
