Job Summary

IQVIA is hiring a Medical Surveillance Specialist to provide clinical laboratory monitoring, medical narrative preparation, and support for pharmacovigilance activities. The role involves evaluating laboratory data, identifying significant clinical trends, and ensuring seamless communication with investigator sites and project teams to maintain high-quality clinical study data.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate laboratory results daily from sponsor-designated central laboratories.

  • Analyze laboratory data using eDC platforms and assess against protocol-specific reference ranges.

  • Identify and flag clinically significant trends or changes in lab values.

  • Communicate with investigator sites for additional clinical information when required.

  • Act as a liaison between the Medical Services Department, sponsor labs, and project teams.

  • Provide regular updates on critical findings that may affect study objectives.

  • Assist Lead Medical Surveillance Specialist during project set-up.

  • Attend project team meetings and provide input on clinical findings.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laboratory practices and advancements through seminars and continuing education.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, Medicine (Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy), or Dentistry.

  • 2–6 years of relevant experience, including 2.5+ years in medical surveillance (mandatory).

  • Strong ability to interpret and integrate scientific and clinical laboratory data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in data management systems and MS Office tools.

  • Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, managers, and clients.
