Job Overview

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical affairs professional responsible for scientific engagement with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and institutional stakeholders. The role focuses on evidence-based scientific exchange, insight generation, and strategic medical collaboration to support clinical excellence and business objectives.

This position plays a critical role in translating clinical evidence into real-world practice, strengthening scientific credibility, and supporting internal cross-functional teams with medical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute medical strategies aligned with local and regional objectives to strengthen therapeutic leadership.

  • Engage HCPs through scientific discussions, clinical data interpretation, and evidence dissemination to promote appropriate product utilization and improved patient outcomes.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and healthcare networks.

  • Plan and facilitate advisory boards, scientific roundtables, and speaker development initiatives.

  • Gather and analyze field-based medical insights to inform internal medical strategy and evidence generation priorities.

  • Support real-world evidence (RWE) initiatives, investigator-initiated studies (IIS), and data gap analysis to enhance market access and clinical positioning.

  • Deliver internal medical training to commercial, regulatory, and market access teams on therapeutic landscapes and product science.

  • Ensure strict compliance with ethical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and promotional review processes.

  • Act as a medical reviewer for promotional materials, grants, and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support scientific engagement and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS, PharmD, M.Pharm, MSc, or PhD in Life Sciences (Mandatory).

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or related functions within a pharmaceutical or medical device company.

  • Experience in anesthesia, surgery, ICU, or critical care therapeutic areas is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, medical compliance, and healthcare systems.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with external experts and internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills in English (written and spoken).

  • High business acumen with strong organizational and prioritization capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
