🩺 About the Job

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a field-based scientific expert who builds and maintains strong relationships with external healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
The MSL acts as a trusted scientific partner, providing credible medical information, gathering actionable insights, and ensuring alignment between the medical community’s needs and Sanofi’s objectives.

This role requires deep expertise in Rhinology and Gastroenterology, strong communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a compliant and ethical manner.

🎯 Main Responsibilities

1. Scientific Engagement

Build and maintain long-term peer relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and key stakeholders.
Conduct scientific exchanges to enhance understanding of Sanofi products and therapeutic areas.
Share up-to-date clinical and scientific data within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Support speaker training, advisory boards, and scientific meetings.
Attend and represent Sanofi Medical at scientific congresses and symposia.

2. Insights & Data Generation

Gather, evaluate, and share medical insights from the field to inform medical strategy and product development.
Identify unmet clinical needs, research opportunities, and areas for evidence generation.
Maintain awareness of ongoing trials, publications, and emerging evidence in assigned therapeutic areas.
Support investigator-sponsored study (ISS) processes and identify potential trial sites.

3. Internal Collaboration

Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, and Pharmacovigilance teams.
Share relevant medical information and key insights internally to align on strategy and improve decision-making.
Assist in the creation of scientific materials and ensure adherence to compliance and promotional boundaries.

4. Territory & Stakeholder Management

Manage a base of ~50 key stakeholders across assigned states.
Develop and execute territory engagement plans aligned with medical and business objectives.
Use CRM tools to track engagement activities, insights, and outcomes.
Plan and prioritize interactions to meet territory goals and ensure consistent follow-up.

5. Governance & Compliance

Operate independently within complex regulatory environments.
Maintain compliance with company, legal, and industry guidelines for non-promotional activities.
Ensure excellence in execution of all medical governance processes.

🧠 About You

Qualifications

Advanced scientific/medical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred;
or relevant Life Science degree (RN/MS) with specialization in Rhinology and/or Gastroenterology.
Must reside within the assigned territory.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to travel frequently (nationally and occasionally internationally).

Experience

Minimum 2 years in a pharmaceutical or clinical MSL role (field-based experience preferred).
Strong understanding of Immunology, particularly in Gastroenterology settings.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate scientific and clinical data effectively.
Experience engaging with multidisciplinary medical teams.
Knowledge of clinical research design, trial execution, and evidence-based medicine.

Skills & Knowledge

Exceptional scientific acumen and communication ability.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with KOLs and stakeholders.
Proficient in digital tools and CRM systems for territory management.
Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical codes of practice and non-promotional compliance.
Excellent presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
