Position Summary

In this vital role, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for IgG4 - Rare Disease serves as a scientific and clinical expert within the assigned territory. The MSL builds and maintains trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and institutions to communicate the medical and scientific value of Amgen’s products and research.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a scientific liaison between Amgen and the medical community.

  • Develop and sustain relationships with external experts, clinicians, and academic leaders.

  • Communicate scientific, clinical, and health economic data effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identify and address unmet medical needs by linking them with Amgen’s available resources.

  • Collaborate across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams to align strategy and share insights.

  • Evaluate and support Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) and company-sponsored studies.

  • Attend and represent Amgen at national and regional scientific meetings, congresses, and symposia.

  • Identify, train, and support external speakers for scientific programs.

  • Monitor and report competitive intelligence, including advances in rare disease management.

  • Support regulatory compliance and align activities with legal and ethical standards.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree
    OR

  • Master’s degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Affairs experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company

  • Exceptional oral and written communication and networking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new digital tools (e.g., iPad, CRM applications)

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and project management abilities

  • Willingness to travel up to 60% (territory coverage, conferences, internal meetings)

  • Flexibility to work extended hours (up to 15-hour days) when required
