About the Role

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support the Autoantibody Pipeline across the Southeast region. This field-based role will cover Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, with preferred locations in Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, or Miami.

The position focuses on advancing scientific engagement, strengthening therapeutic expertise, and supporting research initiatives within Immunology. This role requires strong scientific leadership, deep disease-state knowledge, and the ability to build strategic relationships with healthcare professionals across diverse clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement and Education

  • Deliver fair, balanced, and evidence-based scientific information to healthcare professionals, opinion leaders, and internal partners.

  • Stay current on scientific trends, treatment landscapes, and emerging data in Immunology and autoantibody research.

  • Present complex scientific data in a clear, audience-appropriate manner.

Territory Management

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to support educational and scientific initiatives.

  • Build strong external relationships with physicians, researchers, academic institutions, and community practices.

  • Conduct both virtual and in-person scientific engagements, prioritizing in-person interactions where appropriate.

Research Support

  • Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research, including site identification, communication, and ongoing study support.

  • Participate in clinical trial-related meetings, site readiness activities, and investigator discussions.

Scientific Leadership

  • Lead or contribute to at least one strategic scientific project within the Immunology division.

  • Participate in team scientific discussions, journal clubs, and training sessions.

  • Attend major congresses, conferences, and scientific meetings to gather insights and represent the organization.

Compliance and Operations

  • Perform administrative responsibilities accurately and within required timelines.

  • Maintain adherence to regulatory, compliance, and Medical Affairs standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Medical Affairs, and other field-based teams.

  • Support regional training initiatives and internal capability development.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel up to 70% across the assigned territory, including occasional national meetings.


Required Qualifications

  • PharmD, PhD, or MD with 1–2 years of clinical or research experience in hematology, immunology, autoimmunity, or alloimmune diseases.

  • 1–2 years of Medical Science Liaison experience, preferably in rare diseases.

  • Strong scientific acumen and the ability to communicate complex data effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and remote communication technologies.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior rare disease product launch experience.

  • Strong experience delivering scientific presentations to clinical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, scientific data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement.
