Role Summary:

The Medical Lead supports the design, implementation, and execution of Medical Affairs plans for the assigned Therapy Area, in alignment with product strategy. The role involves scientific exchange, clinical research support, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to drive Novartis' medical and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

📌 Medical Affairs Strategy & Execution

Implement country-level medical affairs strategies aligned with global direction, market insights, and local conditions.
Support execution of activities within the assigned therapeutic area(s).

📚 Scientific & Medical Engagement

Coordinate scientific meetings, symposia, congresses, and CME programs.
Develop and execute engagement plans for customer-facing medical activities and events.
Ensure medical/scientific responses to external inquiries are accurate, timely, and compliant.

🧪 Clinical Research Support

Provide input into clinical trial design and support execution.
Oversee initiation and conduct of non-interventional studies (NIS) and investigator-initiated trials (IITs).

📄 Medical Material Review & Development

Review and approve local medical and promotional materials per local/P3/global guidelines.
Customize global/regional materials to suit local market needs.

🧠 Insight & Compliance

Deliver medical insights to functions including Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, QA, Market Access, and Commercial teams.
Ensure risk identification, mitigation planning, and compliance with internal controls.

Essential Requirements:

🎓 Education:

MBBS required
MD (mandatory) with at least 2+ years of industry experience

💼 Experience & Skills:

Operations management & execution
Project management and cross-functional collaboration
Clinical trial design and medical data interpretation
Strong understanding of disease area science
Experience with:
- Medical governance & safety
- Non-Interventional/Epidemiological studies
- Medical education & scientific engagement

Desirable:

Therapeutic Area Experience:
- Ophthalmology and/or Immunology

Languages:

Fluency in English (required)
