Position Summary

The Medical Director, US Medical Lead (Evenity, Bone) plays a key leadership role in developing and executing the U.S. Medical Strategy for the Bone therapeutic area. This individual supports the US Medical Plan, ensuring alignment with global medical strategies, while overseeing medical governance, clinical research support, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is ideal for a scientifically driven leader who combines strategic vision, medical expertise, and cross-functional influence.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of the U.S. Medical Plan for Evenity.

  • Align U.S. medical objectives with global strategies to support launch and lifecycle management.

  • Identify and address scientific evidence gaps; develop local evidence generation plans.

  • Provide medical input into regulatory submissions, labeling discussions, and safety initiatives.

Clinical & Scientific Activities

  • Support clinical trial conduct and ensure alignment with ethical and regulatory standards.

  • Engage with external experts, investigators, and medical societies to build scientific partnerships.

  • Develop and implement data communication strategies, including congress presentations and publications.

  • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all scientific and medical content across channels (copy review, congresses, 1:1 interactions, etc.).

Medical Governance & Compliance

  • Oversee medical governance for assigned products, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

  • Partner with GRAAS (Global Regulatory and Safety) on pharmacovigilance and risk management.

  • Ensure compliant medical support for safety, communication, and external engagements.

  • Promote a culture of ethical medical practice and scientific integrity.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Commercial, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations teams to drive product success.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in bone health to guide strategy and decision-making.

  • Represent Medical Affairs in product team meetings and integrated brand planning.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 4+ years of medical leadership experience
    OR

  • Master’s degree and 8+ years of medical leadership experience
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of medical leadership experience

In addition:

  • Minimum 4 years of direct people management or leadership experience (teams, programs, or resources).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MD with accredited fellowship; board certified or eligible.

  • Clinical research/Medical Affairs experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO settings.

  • Proven collaboration with integrated delivery networks (IDNs), accountable care organizations (ACOs), and payers.

  • Deep understanding of clinical study design and execution.

  • Familiarity with U.S. healthcare compliance regulations.

  • Established network of opinion leaders in the therapeutic area.

  • Broad leadership background with experience in pharmaceutical product lifecycle management.

  • Budgeting and resource management expertise.

  • Advanced understanding of cross-functional operations: Commercial, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Clinical.
