Job Summary:

The Medical Affairs Partner (MAP) plays a key role within the Medical Affairs organization. Focused on a specific therapeutic area, the MAP contributes strategic and tactical thinking to lifecycle planning, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and regulatory compliance. This role leads medical activities in alignment with local and international regulations, company standards, and Medical Research guidelines.

Main Accountability/Responsibility:

Scientific Expertise & Medical Affairs Delivery:

  • Develop and contribute to the affiliate/therapeutic area medical plan and strategies with CRP (Clinical Research Physician).
  • Lead/support data analysis and the creation of scientific presentations, abstracts, posters, and publications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional medical roles (MSLs, CRPs, etc.) to create exceptional customer experiences through educational initiatives and omnichannel engagement tools.
  • Collect insights regarding disease areas, patient journeys, treatment patterns, and unmet needs.
  • Support CRP in the execution of data generation plans aligned with affiliate business requirements.
  • Create and review local medical information letters in collaboration with the Med Info function.
  • Contribute to the Scientific Data Disclosure (SDD) plans.
  • Stay updated on scientific and clinical developments in the therapeutic area.

Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for cross-functional teams, including the brand team.
  • Provide clinical and strategic input to the cross-functional team and assist with brand plan development.
  • Review promotional materials and contribute to the development of local/regional content.
  • Support medical training for internal teams, including sales and marketing.
  • Oversee local Patient Support Programs and lead scientific exchange meetings.
  • Lead and support planning of symposia, advisory boards, and educational meetings with healthcare professionals (HCPs).

Customer Engagement & Experience:

  • Respond to external customer inquiries and support escalations in line with company requirements.
  • Drive Thought Leader engagement and manage speaker training programs.
  • Foster relationships with professional societies and collaborate cross-functionally to improve customer engagement through digital innovations.
  • Lead medical efforts to ensure positive customer experiences.

Collaboration with Regulatory:

  • Participate in the development and review of local product labeling in collaboration with the CRP, global development, and regulatory teams.
  • Provide medical expertise to the regulatory team for local registration, labeling discussions, and regulatory advisory committee meetings.
  • Assist in risk management planning with the CRP, global development teams, and Global Patient Safety (GPS).

Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
  • Ensure completion of myPM objectives in accordance with company processes and policies.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

Educational Qualification:

  • Core: Degree in medicine or a medically related field (MBBS, PhD).
  • Desired: MD in clinical or non-clinical subjects.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Core: 2+ years of experience in a medical/scientific role in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Proven ability to anticipate customer needs and handle complex requests.
  • Experience in collaborating across multiple functions (marketing, compliance, legal, etc.).
  • Desired: 2-3 years of clinical practice experience.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership abilities and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complex deliverables and prioritize effectively.
  • High learning agility to interpret complex scientific data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop solutions for customer needs.

Other Role Requirements:
