Job Title: Associate Medical Director, Schizophrenia

Duration: 12-month contract, Full-Time

Job Description:

The Associate Medical Director for Schizophrenia is responsible for leading and executing US Medical Affairs initiatives related to schizophrenia, including medical education programs, advocacy efforts, evidence dissemination, and evidence generation. This role requires strong collaboration with internal and external partners, such as regulatory, brand marketing, Real World Value & Evidence (RW V&E), Client Research & Development, Global Medical Affairs, clinical investigators, advocacy organizations, and key opinion leaders.

Key responsibilities include pharmacovigilance, evaluations of medically important results assessments (MIRA), participation in promotional review committees, label revisions, training for speakers and sales representatives, and supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace. Adherence to project budgets, timelines, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a scientific and medical expert in the field of schizophrenia for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide clinical and scientific leadership through collaboration with various teams, including Medical Affairs, RW V&E, Brand Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Global Medical Affairs.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of education strategies and product training for Health Care Providers (HCPs).
  • Lead scientific engagement activities such as advisory boards, symposia, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs for department-sponsored evidence generation activities related to schizophrenia.
  • Mentor and coach other team members within Medical Affairs.

Experience:

  • This role can be hybrid or remote, but candidates should be located in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.
  • Candidates should have a Doctorate (PhD or PharmD); an MD is not required but can be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in clinical practice, industry, or academia.
  • Experience in monitoring trials, regulatory affairs, and action planning is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration with communications teams is essential.

Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in clinical practice, industry, or academia is required.
  • Preferred experience or training in schizophrenia, psychiatry, or neuroscience.
  • Understanding of US healthcare dynamics is strongly preferred.
  • The candidate should demonstrate a mindset focused on prioritization, impact, decisiveness, and urgency.
  • Clinical field experience is essential, with psychiatry experience being highly preferred.
  • Ability to execute and advise on processes and plans effectively.

Education:

  • A minimum of an MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent doctorate is required.
