Manager, Pharmacovigilance – Tokyo (Office-Based)

Job Summary:

ICON plc, a global leader in healthcare intelligence and clinical research, is hiring a Manager, Pharmacovigilance in Tokyo, Japan. In this pivotal office-based role, you will lead pharmacovigilance operations, ensuring timely and compliant reporting of safety data. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmacovigilance teams to ensure accurate and timely adverse event reporting in compliance with global regulations

  • Develop and implement policies to enhance safety monitoring and risk management strategies

  • Collaborate with clinical operations and regulatory affairs to integrate safety data into clinical development

  • Analyze safety trends to identify risks and support decision-making in clinical studies

  • Stay abreast of evolving global pharmacovigilance regulations and industry best practices


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field (Advanced degree or certification preferred)

  • Extensive experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety in clinical research or pharma industry

  • Deep understanding of safety regulations and global compliance requirements

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across functions and cultures

  • Fluency in Japanese and English is a plus
