Position Title:

Medical Content Manager (Medical Affairs)


Role Summary

The Medical Content Manager is responsible for developing high-quality, accurate, and compliant medical affairs content across various therapeutic areas. This includes a wide array of external-facing materials such as abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, infographics, multimedia, and more. The role requires collaboration across cross-functional teams, adherence to industry best practices, and active involvement in innovative content development, including leveraging new digital and generative AI platforms.


Role Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Develop diverse medical affairs content, including:
    • Abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters/presentations, systematic literature reviews.
    • Plain language summaries, slide decks, medical education resources.
    • Infographics, graphical abstracts, video, and multi-media materials.
    • Social media content and other forms of omnichannel communication.
  • Research, organize, interpret, and draft technical/medical information with internal review support.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of all medical content, representing data objectively and effectively.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (Medical Communications, Scientific Publication Committees, Congress Teams, Digital Channel Teams, Generative AI Working Groups) to develop content aligned with therapeutic and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams (Graphics, Compliance, Statistics) to provide solutions for content development challenges.

Project Management

  • Ensure the timely delivery of all assigned projects while meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Track project progress, identify potential issues, and resolve them with guidance from the Team Lead.
  • Provide end-to-end execution of projects independently and collaboratively.

Training and Technology Integration

  • Support the development of training materials for product/therapeutic priorities.
  • Train on and adopt generative AI platforms and other new technologies to enhance content creation.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in medical content generation, sharing knowledge within the team.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MBBS/MD, MSc, MPH, MPharm).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical content development for the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, academic settings, or biotech.
  • Demonstrated scientific writing expertise with the ability to summarize complex data concisely and persuasively.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with statistical and epidemiologic principles used in medical research.
  • Proficiency in software like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and experience presenting/analyzing data.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
  • Understanding of technology applications for medical content development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in creating medical content across diverse formats.
  • Expertise in assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Certifications like ISMPP-CMPP®.
  • Experience in multimedia and omnichannel content development.
  • Exposure to global professional and education settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly adopt new digital content tools and platforms.
