Position Overview

As a Manager, Clinical Data Science, you will play a pivotal role in leading the analysis, interpretation, and strategic use of clinical data to support drug development and improve patient outcomes.

This position involves managing a team of data professionals, implementing data science best practices, and ensuring the highest standards of data quality, compliance, and integrity across clinical research programs.

Key Responsibilities

Data Science & Analysis

  • Lead and oversee the analysis and interpretation of clinical trial data to derive actionable insights for research and development.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

  • Implement and promote advanced data science methodologies and technologies to enhance data-driven decision-making.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to junior data scientists and data managers.

  • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the data science team.

  • Oversee team performance, resource allocation, and project timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with clinical operations, biostatistics, and regulatory teams to align data strategies with clinical and organizational goals.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data integrity and optimize trial outcomes.

  • Contribute to the development of data-driven strategies supporting innovation in clinical research.

Process Optimization

  • Drive best practices in data governance, collection, and reporting.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and analytical capability.

  • Ensure robust documentation, validation, and audit readiness across projects.


Experience Level

  • Required: Minimum 8–12 years of experience in clinical data science, data management, or biostatistics within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry.

  • Leadership Experience: At least 3–5 years in a managerial or team leadership capacity, overseeing data analysis or data management teams.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficiency in SAS, R, Python, or similar statistical programming languages.

    • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory data standards (CDISC, SDTM, ADaM), and compliance frameworks.

    • Experience with data visualization tools and analytical platforms.

  • Preferred: Exposure to AI/ML applications, predictive modeling, or advanced statistical analytics in clinical research.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and statistical reasoning skills.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

    • Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, data-driven insights.

    • Proven record of driving innovation and efficiency in clinical data functions.
