Role Overview

The In Vivo PK Scientist will independently conduct pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution studies in rodent models, ensuring precise execution, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory and EHS standards. This role is essential for supporting preclinical drug development programs and enabling high-quality PK/PD data generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute in vivo pharmacokinetic (PK) studies in rodent models, including collection of blood, tissues, and biological fluids (CSF, bile, urine, synovial fluid).

  • Perform surgical procedures such as jugular, femoral, and portal vein cannulations, and chronic bile duct cannulations.

  • Maintain accurate online lab notebooks, compound tracking, and data documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

  • Analyze PK data using Phoenix WinNonlin or other relevant software tools.

  • Coordinate with formulation scientists to ensure suitability of dosing solutions for PK, efficacy, and toxicity studies.

  • Ensure adherence to environment, health, and safety (EHS) protocols at all times.

  • Contribute to team training on EHS practices and regulatory compliance for in vivo studies.

  • Collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, dynamic team environment, adapting to evolving project priorities.

Educational Qualification

  • M.Pharm or Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or Life Sciences with hands-on experience in in vivo PK studies in industry settings.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in rodent surgical techniques and cannulation procedures.

  • Experience in tissue distribution studies and collection of various biological fluids.

  • Proficiency in PK data analysis software such as Phoenix WinNonlin.

  • Basic understanding of preclinical formulations for PK, efficacy, and toxicity studies.

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics is desirable.
