Job Purpose

The In Vivo Scientist will be responsible for conducting pharmacokinetic (PK) studies in rodents, performing surgical procedures, collecting biological samples, and analyzing pharmacokinetic data to support drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) studies.


Key Responsibilities

In Vivo Pharmacokinetics Studies

  • Conduct in vivo pharmacokinetic (PK) studies in rodents (rats and mice).
  • Perform surgical procedures, including cannulation of jugular, femoral, and portal veins in rats.
  • Conduct chronic bile duct cannulation and collect biological fluids (bile, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid).
  • Collect vital organs for tissue distribution studies in rodents.

Data Management & Analysis

  • Document laboratory notebooks and maintain online records.
  • Perform pharmacokinetic data analysis using Phoenix WinNonlin and other data analysis tools.
  • Ensure proper compound management and data integrity.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Adhere to GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and regulatory guidelines for DMPK studies.
  • Follow EHS protocols to maintain safety in laboratory and animal-handling environments.
  • Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance in all study activities.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, supporting dynamic research goals.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with formulation, efficacy, and toxicology teams.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to junior team members when required.

Skills & Technical Capabilities

  • Expertise in surgical procedures (cannulation, chronic bile duct cannulation, biological fluid collection).
  • Experience in pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution studies in rodents.
  • Knowledge of formulation requirements for PK, efficacy, and toxicity studies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Phoenix WinNonlin.
