Overview

The Paperpal product team is seeking a Product Design Intern passionate about shaping the future of academic research. This internship is ideal for individuals eager to learn, solve real-world user challenges, and translate ideas into simple, impactful design solutions.

As a Product Design Intern, you will work closely with our Principal Product Designer, gaining hands-on experience in user research, design thinking, and creating intuitive, pixel-perfect products. This role provides a unique opportunity to grow your design skills while contributing to solutions used by researchers globally.


Responsibilities

  • Support the product design team in various stages of the design lifecycle.

  • Assist in creating wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs that align with user needs.

  • Learn and utilize modern design tools and software to enhance design capabilities.

  • Execute design tasks under the guidance of experienced designers.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency and usability.


Qualifications and Prerequisites

  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design software; openness to learning new tools.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and thought process (mandatory).

  • Solid understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, color theory, and layout principles.

  • Eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Fresh graduates or students with 0–1 year of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
