Purpose:

The HSE Manager leads the implementation of Lilly’s global HSE Directions program and ensures compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations for the India sales affiliate. The role focuses on safety culture, risk prevention, employee well-being, and environmental stewardship.


Key Responsibilities:

Program Implementation & Compliance

  • Lead the Lilly HSE Directions program focused on:

    • Motor vehicle safety

    • Ergonomics and wellness

    • Slip/trip/fall prevention

    • Emergency preparedness

    • Environmental initiatives

  • Manage and maintain the affiliate HSE Management System and Safety Culture Plan.

  • Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations and internal policies.

  • Oversee HSE compliance for contractor operations, facilities, and construction work.

Communication, Training & Governance

  • Act as primary liaison between Lilly India and Global HSE.

  • Communicate HSE guidelines and program updates to affiliate employees.

  • Coordinate and ensure completion of mandatory HSE training for all personnel.

  • Support HSE governance via leadership engagement and HSE committee participation.

Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Facilitate incident reporting and investigation, including work-related injuries and vehicle collisions.

  • Conduct safety inspections, emergency drills, and gap assessments.

  • Collect and analyze HSE performance metrics.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (technical HSE degree or certification preferred)

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in HSE program management or implementation

  • Hands-on motor vehicle safety training experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems effectively

  • Competency in data management, reporting, and program development

  • Willingness to travel domestically as required
