Job Overview

Omega Healthcare is seeking HCC – Senior Coders to manage day-to-day coding operations for patient charts and diagnosis reports. This role requires accuracy, compliance, and efficiency to meet client productivity and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in medical coding, healthcare compliance, and revenue cycle processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform medical coding and auditing of patient charts based on client requirements and guidelines.

  • Maintain and update production and pending reports accurately.

  • Review emails and communications to stay updated with client instructions or process changes.

  • Identify and escalate issues to the immediate supervisor for resolution.

  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, client specifications, and regulatory standards.

  • Apply client updates and instructions accurately during coding production.

  • Prepare and maintain coding and audit reports to support operational and compliance requirements.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of medical coding concepts including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and healthcare documentation.

  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) and medical billing processes.

  • Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management and compliance with HIPAA standards.

  • Ability to meet daily and monthly productivity targets while maintaining coding accuracy.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.

  • Effective communication skills to work with team leaders and stakeholders.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in medical coding or auditing; 6 months to 3 years of practical coding experience is acceptable for junior candidates progressing into senior coding roles.

  • Education: Any Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Certifications: CPC, CCS, or relevant coding certifications preferred but not mandatory.
