Position Overview

The Graduate Intern – Center for Observational Research (CfOR) will work on real-world evidence (RWE) generation related to Osteoporosis and Cardiovascular diseases.
The CfOR team designs and conducts observational research to support decisions across Amgen’s product lifecycle—from early molecule development to clinical trial design and post-market safety evaluation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, execution, and interpretation of observational research studies.

  • Conduct literature reviews to inform study design and contextualize findings.

  • Develop visualizations and graphics to communicate scientific data to diverse audiences.

  • Assist in preparing statistical analysis plans, code lists, and related study documentation.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across CfOR and other Amgen departments.


Basic Qualifications

All Amgen graduate interns must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.

  • Bachelor’s degree completed from an accredited college or university.

  • Currently enrolled in one of the following programs:

    • MBA (for MBA internship)

    • Master’s (for Master’s internship)

    • PharmD (for PharmD internship)

    • Ph.D. (for Ph.D. internship)

  • Must have completed the first year of the current academic program before the internship begins.

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program after the internship ends.

  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts.

  • Must reside in the United States for the duration of the internship.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a doctoral program in Epidemiology or a related discipline with strong observational research content.

  • Experience in Cardiovascular disease, Osteoporosis, or similar therapeutic areas.

  • Prior experience conducting literature reviews and designing or analyzing observational studies in a Public Health or Pharmaceutical setting.

  • Skilled in creating data visualizations and presenting scientific evidence effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborative environments.
