🧩 About the Role

The Global Scientific Communication Director, Neurology will lead the strategy, development, and execution of scientific publication activities for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) products.
This role serves as a key scientific and strategic liaison — engaging with thought leaders, medical experts, and internal global teams to ensure clear, compliant, and impactful scientific communication.

📍 Reports to: Head of Global Scientific Communications – Neurology (Global Medical Affairs)
This is a high-visibility leadership position offering cross-functional collaboration across Sanofi’s worldwide medical and commercial teams.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

🔹 Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and lead the global publication strategy for assigned MS indications, aligning with medical and brand objectives.

  • Serve as the Neurology subject matter expert (SME), providing scientific guidance across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the Global Medical Product Team to ensure integration of communication goals into overall product strategy.

  • Explore innovative channels to deliver scientific content effectively across digital, print, and congress platforms.

🔹 Operational Excellence

  • Oversee publication planning, content development, and execution in alignment with global and U.S. compliance standards.

  • Manage external vendors and medical communication agencies, including budget oversight and performance tracking.

  • Ensure adherence to publication ethics and industry guidelines (CONSORT, ICMJE, GPP, PhRMA Code).

  • Supervise and guide medical writing teams to maintain scientific accuracy and consistency.

🔹 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, and Marketing to deliver cohesive and compliant scientific narratives.

  • Lead cross-regional discussions to ensure aligned communication on product value and clinical data.

  • Support medical education and congress activities, including abstracts, posters, symposia, and field materials.


🎓 Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree: MD, PhD, or PharmD (Life Sciences).

  • 5+ years of experience in medical, scientific, or clinical roles within Multiple Sclerosis or Neurology.

  • Proven success in Scientific Communications and Publication Strategy within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience managing vendors, agencies, and publication budgets.

  • Deep understanding of medical writing, data dissemination, and publication ethics.

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (CONSORT, ICMJE, GPP, PhRMA Code).

  • Demonstrated excellence in scientific writing and review.

  • Creative and innovative approach to digital publication and congress content.

  • Experience in cross-functional leadership and global project management.
