Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Global Medical Advisor – Diabetes to join a dynamic Global Medical Affairs Operations team based in Bangalore, India. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in an international environment, collaborating with global medical leaders, regional affiliates, and key external stakeholders to drive scientific excellence and strategic medical initiatives in diabetes care.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, delivering high-quality scientific communication, medical strategy execution, and stakeholder engagement aligned with organizational and therapeutic priorities.


About the Department

Medical Affairs–Operations is part of the Global Business Services (GBS) organization and supports international medical affairs, analytics, communications, and operational functions. The team comprises medical advisors, scientific experts, project managers, medical writers, publication specialists, and creative professionals who work closely with Global Medical Affairs headquarters and regional teams worldwide.

This function plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and impactful communication of medical and scientific data to internal stakeholders and the external healthcare community.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy & Scientific Leadership

  • Execute global medical affairs strategies aligned with therapeutic area priorities and business objectives.

  • Generate, interpret, and communicate clinical and scientific evidence to support appropriate product positioning.

  • Provide expert medical guidance across international operations, regions, and affiliates.

Scientific Communication & Education

  • Deliver accurate, timely, and credible medical education to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support scientific exchange activities, advisory boards, congresses, symposia, and investigator meetings.

  • Lead publication planning and ensure scientific integrity of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and presentations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a medical liaison to global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional associations, and research institutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Medical Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, Safety, Marketing, and Public Affairs.

  • Extract insights from KOL interactions and translate them into actionable medical and strategic recommendations.

Cross-Functional & Team Contributions

  • Support medical, legal, and regulatory reviews as required.

  • Coach and mentor junior team members and contribute to high-impact cross-functional projects.

  • Leverage digital tools, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance scientific communication and decision-making.


Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • MD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in medicine, life sciences, or healthcare-related discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in a clinical, medical, or research role.

  • Strong background in diabetes mellitus with experience in clinical research, drug development, or medical affairs.

  • Prior experience within a Medical Affairs function is strongly preferred.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical drug development and healthcare systems.

  • Strong scientific analysis, data interpretation, and medical writing skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple global priorities.

  • Proficiency in leveraging technology, including AI and data-driven tools, to support medical decision-making.
