Job Overview
The Expert Scientific Writer is responsible for developing complex scientific and medical communication content to support global healthcare initiatives across therapeutic areas such as immunology, chronic disease management, diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and transplant-related complications. The role involves end-to-end management of publication and medical education materials, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic support for global scientific communication programs.

The organization serves as a strategic partner delivering operational and scientific support to medical, health economics, value and access, and commercial teams worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Content Development
Develop complex and specialized scientific and medical communication content independently.
Manage end-to-end publication and medical education content development processes, including documentation and approval workflows using content management systems such as PromoMats and iEnvision.
Create high-quality materials including slide decks, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and educational resources.
Implement regional publication plans and execute associated activities according to defined timelines and quality standards.
Conduct publication needs analysis and support development of communication strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards in all content development activities.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
Maintain effective relationships with global medical and scientific stakeholders within assigned business units and product portfolios.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and subject matter experts on publication development and scientific communication initiatives.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including medical affairs, scientific communication teams, and external vendors.
Support scientific communication teams in identifying publication requirements and delivering customized scientific materials.

Leadership and Knowledge Management
Provide guidance, coaching, and quality review of content developed by senior and junior scientific writers.
Develop and maintain expertise in therapeutic areas, compliance requirements, and medical communication processes.
Share best practices and support knowledge development across teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives based on stakeholder feedback and performance metrics.

Process and Quality Excellence
Act as a subject matter expert in assigned therapeutic areas and medical communication practices.
Support development of strategic publication plans and execution frameworks.
Enhance training effectiveness through advanced tools and methodologies.
Ensure adherence to organizational quality standards and compliance guidelines.

Education and Experience Requirements
Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related discipline, or a medical degree.
Minimum 8 years of experience in scientific or medical content development within the pharmaceutical, healthcare industry, or academia.
At least 4 years of leadership experience managing teams or projects.
Strong knowledge of therapeutic areas, publication processes, and medical communication standards.
Experience in publication submission, project management, and scientific documentation workflows.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
