Job Title: Formulation Scientist – Product Ideation

Department: Integrated Product Development
Location: Brazil, India, and Emerging Markets

Job Summary

Dr. Reddy’s is looking for a Formulation Scientist to join its Product Ideation team. This role involves driving the new product selection process, developing and introducing innovative products in the Indian and Brazilian markets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Portfolio management. The successful candidate will help create a robust product pipeline by selecting differentiated concepts, managing technical diligence, and ensuring successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Selection: Lead the ideation and selection of new product concepts, developing a comprehensive plan with clear objectives and targets. Ensure alignment with technical, regulatory, and business goals.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Coordinate with R&D, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and other teams for timely execution of the product development process from ideation to launch.
Technical Diligence: Manage the technical diligence process, including Pre Apex, Apex, and Post Apex stages. Drive actions and ensure the closure of activities related to Medical & Marketing Target Product Profiles (TPP).
Product Ideation & Selection: Review and provide technical inputs for a minimum of 25-30 product concepts annually. Identify and support the development of differentiated products for India and emerging markets.
Product Introduction Support: Oversee the introduction of 45-50 new products annually for India and emerging markets. Ensure that the product introduction process is smooth and meets timelines.
Regulatory & Compliance Support: Provide technical responses to regulatory queries, particularly related to Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC).
External Collaborations: Drive and manage collaborations with academic institutions and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) for Early Proof of Concept (PoC) activities.
Formulation Expertise: Provide expert technical formulation knowledge, leveraging consumer insights to design and deliver products that meet business objectives and ensure better gross margins.
Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, helping develop internal formulation capabilities and expertise.

Qualifications

Education: M.Pharma, M.Tech, or MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Experience: 6-8 years of experience in formulations and product development, particularly in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
Technical Expertise:
- Experience in drug development, integrated product development, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and documentation processes.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements across India, Brazil, and other emerging markets.
- Knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) laws and patents.
