Job Summary
Novartis is hiring an Expert Scientific Writer – Medical Communications for its Hyderabad office (Hybrid mode). This role involves delivering high-quality medical communication materials such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and educational content for internal and external audiences. Ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of scientific writing, therapeutic areas, and publication standards, along with experience in leading publication and medical education projects in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
Develop original scientific content for publications such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide presentations.
Prepare materials for satellite symposia, advisory boards, and internal/external scientific meetings.
Ensure all content is scientifically accurate, evidence-based, referenced correctly, and aligned with internal and industry standards.
Conduct quality control (QC) checks and proofread materials to maintain high-quality deliverables.
Effectively communicate complex scientific concepts tailored for various audiences.
Adhere to established workflows, internal processes, and best practices like GPP3.
Work across multiple therapeutic areas and brands with adaptability and flexibility.
Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to manage timelines and project execution.
Participate in author/client calls, collect feedback, and integrate comments.
Utilize Reference Manager software for proper citation and bibliography preparation.
Support publications planning, research activities, and training of new colleagues.
Maintain compliance records, SOP adherence, and audit readiness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor’s in Science or equivalent.
Preferred: MSc, PhD, PharmD, or MD.
At least 5 years of experience in medical communications or medical writing.
Strong knowledge of publication processes and scientific writing standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with industry standards like GPP3.
Excellent communication, research, and editing skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects and therapeutic areas simultaneously.
