Expert Scientific Writer – Medical & Publication Writing (Global Pharma / R&D Content)

Job Overview
Sanofi is seeking an Expert Scientific Writer to join its Business Operations team in Hyderabad. This role is responsible for developing high-quality scientific, medical education, and publication content supporting global therapeutic areas across Specialty Care, Vaccines, General Medicines, and R&D functions.
The position plays a critical role in end-to-end scientific communication, including publication planning, content development, and stakeholder engagement across global medical and scientific teams.
Experience Required
Minimum 7+ years of experience in scientific writing, medical communications, or pharmaceutical content development. At least 4+ years of experience in leading therapeutic area (TA)-based scientific communication activities is required.
Educational Qualification
Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline is required.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific & Medical Content Development
Develop complex scientific and medical communication content including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks
Ensure content quality, scientific accuracy, and compliance with Good Publication Practices (GPP)
Manage end-to-end publication and medical education content lifecycle using approved systems (e.g., PromoMats, iEnvision)
Translate scientific data into clear, impactful medical communication materials for global stakeholders
Publication Strategy & Planning
Conduct publication gap analysis and support development of annual publication plans
Identify key scientific communication opportunities within assigned therapeutic areas
Collaborate with cross-functional medical and R&D teams to define publication priorities
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Work closely with global medical affairs, HEVA, and scientific communication teams
Engage with healthcare professionals and scientific experts for content validation and insights
Collaborate with external vendors and publication partners to ensure timely deliverables
Quality, Compliance & Process Management
Ensure adherence to global publication standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal compliance frameworks
Maintain documentation and approval workflows across publication systems
Improve content quality through continuous feedback integration and process optimization
Team Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor and review work of junior and senior scientific writers
Share therapeutic area expertise and contribute to capability building within the team
Support development of best practices in scientific communication and publication strategy

Strong expertise in medical writing and scientific communication

Knowledge of Good Publication Practices (GPP) and regulatory standards
