Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Drug Product Formulation Development Scientist to join our Process Sciences team in Ahmedabad. This role is critical to the design, development, and characterization of robust drug product formulations in liquid and lyophilized dosage forms. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering stable, scalable, and regulatory-compliant formulations suitable for clinical and commercial development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for drug product formulation and lyophilization development activities.
Design and execute formulation development studies, including excipient selection for liquid and lyophilized dosage forms.
Plan and perform stability studies to ensure optimal physicochemical properties of drug products.
Conduct primary packaging selection and container–closure compatibility studies.
Execute forced degradation and stress studies to assess product robustness.
Apply in-depth knowledge of drug product unit operations, including freeze–thaw, filtration, filling, mixing, and lyophilization.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external clients to support formulation strategy and execution.
Author and review technical reports, development summaries, and contribute to regulatory submissions and health authority audits.
Support scientific publications and intellectual property generation related to formulation development.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in drug product formulation development and manufacturing.
Strong expertise in formulation design, excipient selection, and stability assessment for liquid and lyophilized products.
Solid understanding of drug product unit operations, including container closure integrity testing and packaging operations.
Demonstrated cross-functional technical knowledge across pharmaceutical development disciplines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and global clients.
Educational Qualifications
Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
