Position Overview:

Roche is looking for a Donor Screening Hybrid Field Application Specialist/Field Engineering Specialist to provide technical support, installation, training, and troubleshooting for Molecular and Clinical Diagnostics products related to donor screening. This field-based role involves customer-facing activities such as on-site installation, product training, and technical presentations. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical diagnostics, laboratory workflows, and reagent applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

    • Provide technical support for analyzer, reagent, and IT products, including troubleshooting issues.
    • Perform on-site installations, calibrations, and upgrades of Roche equipment and systems.
  • Customer Training & Consultation:

    • Conduct customer training, including training key operators on the maintenance of equipment and systems.
    • Assist in the assessment of customer needs and provide solutions through product demonstrations and consultations.
  • Sales Support:

    • Support sales activities by promoting Roche products and conducting technical presentations to customers.
    • Identify opportunities for product integration and system improvements.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and compliant service reports, updates, and customer communication.
    • Document all service-related activities and track customer account progress.
  • Industry Knowledge:

    • Stay informed on trends and developments in the donor screening and diagnostics industry.

Who You Are:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience implementing and evaluating complex laboratory or IT products, medical diagnostic equipment, reagents, or systems.
    • Experience in field implementation, training, and providing technical support.
    • Previous experience as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience in clinical laboratory or blood screening environments.
    • Experience in blood banking is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
    • Experience in mentoring or coaching junior staff.
