Job Title: Critical Care Pharmacist
Location: Dayton Children's - Main Campus, Dayton, OH
Department: Clinical Pharmacy
Schedule: Full time (40 hours per week)
Shift: Evening (7 days on/7 days off)

Job Overview:

Dayton Children's is seeking a Critical Care Pharmacist to provide safe and effective medication therapy to patients in critical care settings such as the Emergency Department (ED), Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This pharmacist will play a vital role in trauma response, medication reconciliation, and collaborative care during evening rounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trauma & Code Response: Participate in trauma cases in the ED and code situations throughout the hospital.
  • Medication Reconciliation: Lead and oversee the medication reconciliation process during patient transitions from the ED.
  • Collaborative Care: Attend evening PICU rounds and collaborate with the care teams to improve patient outcomes through clinical interventions and recommendations.
  • Clinical Pharmacotherapy: Ensure that medication therapy is safe, effective, and appropriate for each patient.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Licensure:
    • Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Ohio. Must obtain licensure prior to the start date.
  • Experience:
    • PGY1 residency training at a children’s hospital, or
    • PGY2 pediatric residency training, or
    • More than 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
