Role Overview

Omega Healthcare is seeking an experienced Coder Physician – Interventional Radiology (IR) to accurately review, analyze, and code clinical documentation across diagnoses, procedures, DRG/APC, and charge codes. This role ensures precise coding to support reimbursement, clinical quality, research, compliance, and strategic planning. Candidates must have strong IR proficiency and extensive experience with professional fee coding.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review medical records and assign accurate IR-related CPT, ICD-10-CM, DRG/APC, and charge codes.

  • Ensure coding aligns with current regulatory guidelines and payer requirements.

  • Apply advanced IR Pro Fee coding expertise, including procedures such as:

    • Diagnostic angioplasty

    • Embolization

    • Atherectomy

    • Thrombectomy

    • Biopsies

    • Catheter, stent, and drainage placements

  • Perform strong E/M leveling in accordance with updated guidelines.

  • Utilize coding platforms including EPIC and 3M 360 for documentation integrity and compliance.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and safeguard sensitive medical records.

  • Support accurate coding for clinical quality measurement, financial planning, research, and operational decision-making.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) Pro Fee coding experience.

  • Proven expertise in complex IR procedures as listed above.

  • Hands-on experience with E/M leveling, chart review, and coding reports.

  • Strong knowledge of IR coding guidelines and payer policies.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CIRCC certification highly preferred.

  • Experience with EPIC and 3M 360 coding platforms.

  • Thorough understanding of clinical documentation, billing processes, and compliance standards.
