Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Outpatient Cardiology
Job Overview
Athens Regional Specialty Services is seeking a motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical operations within its Outpatient Cardiology department. The role involves delivering patient-centered care and assisting clinical teams in a structured and fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a range of patient care tasks under the supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or registered nurse.
Support clinical procedures, patient preparation, and routine diagnostic activities in accordance with established care standards.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical and operational guidelines.
Assist with patient flow, equipment usage, and coordination of daily cardiology clinic functions.
Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant program required.
In lieu of formal education, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience is acceptable.
Experience
No experience required if a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program has been completed.
Without program completion, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience is required.
Licensure & Certifications
No licensure required by law.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Certification from AAMA or a similarly recognized medical assistant certifying organization required.
