Position Overview
The Clinical Trial Educator (CTE) serves as a field-based educational and clinical liaison, providing guidance on trial inclusion/exclusion criteria to coordinators and healthcare providers. The CTE works collaboratively with CRAs and other field teams to optimize trial execution, develop recruitment strategies, and support patient enrollment. This role involves building referral networks and engaging with patient support groups.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Trial Support
Provide education on clinical trial inclusion and exclusion criteria to trial coordinators and healthcare providers.
Deliver in-service presentations to increase patient enrollment.
Partner with CRAs and other field medical teams to execute tailored recruitment plans.
Develop and maintain referral networks with physicians and support groups.
Support sites to ensure smooth trial operations and patient engagement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Community Outreach
Establish rapport with diverse stakeholders, including physicians, trial coordinators, and patient support organizations.
Participate in community engagement and diversity & inclusion initiatives in clinical trials.
Act as a resource for educational information about the therapeutic area.
Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
Complete patient recruitment activities including referral outreach, chart reviews, and data abstraction.
Coordinate and complete activities across multiple functions with minimal oversight.
Manage territory and workflow independently, demonstrating initiative and execution orientation.
Ensure accurate technology use and administrative record-keeping.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree required; RN license strongly preferred.
Clinical Research experience required; CCRC certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Clinical Trial Educator or healthcare education experience preferred.
Community engagement experience preferred.
Experience with Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and travel extensively (up to 75% nationwide).
Strong analytical, business acumen, persuasion, influence, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range: $62,300 – $195,100 annually
Actual pay varies based on qualifications, experience, location, and schedule.
