Role Overview:
Unilever is seeking a Clinical Scientist & Operations Excellence Manager to join its R&D Clinicals team at the Hindustan Unilever Research Centre (HURC) in Bangalore. The position involves dual responsibilities: overseeing the end-to-end operational execution of clinical studies and contributing scientifically to the design and delivery of nutrition-based research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage clinical studies across HUL Foods, ensuring on-time-in-full (OTIF) delivery within budget.

  • Design and oversee clinical protocols, proposals, risk assessments, and governance processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: supply chain, procurement, legal, finance, and external CROs.

  • Coordinate clinical trial logistics including product supply, documentation, payments, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure clinical site readiness, study monitoring, and timely reporting.

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to align clinical study objectives with business needs.

  • Interpret clinical data and support the development of study reports and scientific publications.

  • Support internal approvals, manage vendor contracts, and ensure data integrity and audit readiness.

  • Identify potential risks and proactively manage study deviations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Research, Clinical Data Management, or related life science fields.

  • 6–8 years of experience in clinical research within Foods or FMCG industry; candidates with a background in nutrition or CROs are also welcome.

  • Strong understanding of clinical design, food/nutrition science, and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in biostatistics or statistical analysis is a strong advantage.

  • Proven track record in independently managing clinical trials and vendor collaborations.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
