🎯 Role Purpose

The Clinical Research Physician – Incretins serves as a senior medical expert within the Diabetes & Obesity Business Unit, providing leadership and scientific guidance across global medical affairs, clinical development, and commercialization activities.

The role ensures the medical strategy aligns with patient needs, regulatory requirements, and company standards, while supporting both early- and late-phase clinical trials and marketed products.


🧠 Primary Responsibilities

1. Medical & Clinical Planning

  • Provide expert medical support for local and global business activities

  • Contribute to the global/regional clinical/medical plan

  • Lead planning, startup, and conduct of Phase 3b/4 studies and non-clinical trial activities

  • Collaborate with clinical research scientists, statisticians, and investigators for protocol development and data collection

  • Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA, ICH, CPMP, and other regulations

  • Monitor patient safety and track adverse events

2. Business & Customer Support

  • Support pre- and post-launch medical activities

  • Plan symposia, advisory boards, and HCP meetings

  • Review and prepare scientific and medical information

  • Support training of medical personnel

  • Develop and maintain relationships with thought leaders, professional societies, and external experts

  • Assist with data analysis, publications, and scientific dissemination

3. Regulatory Support

  • Provide medical input for regulatory submissions (NDA, sNDA, PRA)

  • Engage with government agencies and regulatory bodies

  • Ensure clinical operations teams meet administrative requirements

  • Serve as a scientific consultant to study teams

4. General Responsibilities

  • Act as a brand and patient ambassador

  • Support scientific communications using real-world evidence, observational research, and early-phase data

  • Provide leadership for the incretins portfolio and obesity patient care initiatives


🎓 Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) with board eligibility or certification in Endocrinology, Diabetology, or Obesity

  • For U.S. roles: U.S. board eligible/certified; foreign medical graduates must meet LCME standards


🛠 Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Previous pharmaceutical medical affairs or development experience

  • Clinical expertise in Diabetes and Obesity

  • Knowledge of the drug development process

  • Ability to balance scientific priorities with business objectives

  • Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally


💰 Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $198,000 – $336,600 (depends on experience, education, location)
