Role Overview:

The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for conducting clinical studies and providing medical care to patients, ensuring adherence to FDA/GCP and ICH regulations. The role supports patient safety, study compliance, and accurate data collection in clinical research trials.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Trial Execution:

  • Conduct clinical studies according to FDA/GCP and ICH regulations

  • Provide medical care to patients with a focus on safety

  • Perform study activities including:

    • Informed consent

    • Screening procedures

    • Protocol procedures (vital signs, pregnancy tests, height, weight, ECGs, etc.)

  • Record patient information and test results per protocol

  • Complete IP accountability logs where required

  • Report suspected non-compliance to relevant site staff

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure IRB approval prior to study initiation and compliance throughout the study

  • Adhere to company SOPs/COP/SCOP standards

  • Maintain accurate logs and entries in sponsor systems (CRFs, EDC, etc.)

  • Gather source documents and update patient files

  • Attend site initiation and training meetings

Patient Interaction & Retention:

  • Build positive relationships with patients to support retention

  • Conduct patient bookings, follow-up calls, and information sharing

Facility & Safety Support:

  • Assist with facility appearance and waste disposal per company standards

  • Use personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, gowns, etc.)


Education & Licensing:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

  • Valid nursing license in the United States

  • CPR certification


Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years nursing experience

  • Experience in clinical research, trials, and protocols preferred

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills


Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of clinical research processes: GCP, SOPs, informed consent, safety monitoring

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize complex tasks

  • Attention to detail, discretion, and sound judgment

  • Decision-making, negotiation, and influencing skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in basic computer applications

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment


Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Work performed in office, lab, or clinical settings

  • Exposure to biological fluids and infectious agents

  • Repetitive hand movements and frequent mobility

  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting

  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 15–20 lbs)

  • Ability to work upright/stationary 6–8 hours/day

  • Frequent interaction with diverse groups


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Salary: $87,000–$100,000 USD/year
