Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Medication Contracting. Based in a hybrid role at UT Medical Center, Knoxville, this position focuses on enhancing financial performance through strategic pharmacy reimbursement and contract compliance initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and optimize pharmacy-related revenue cycle initiatives: charge capture, billing, denial resolution

  • Collaborate with finance, compliance, and clinical departments to streamline medication reimbursement

  • Interpret payer contracts and develop strategies for compliance and reimbursement maximization

  • Analyze trends in drug utilization, reimbursement data, and pricing (WAC, AWP, ASP)

  • Support and ensure compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program

  • Assist in negotiating and managing medication purchasing and payer contracts

  • Monitor and respond to regulatory changes related to medication billing

  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contracting and revenue processes


Qualifications:

  • PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy school

  • Active pharmacist license in TN or eligibility for licensure

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in health system pharmacy, managed care, or PBM

  • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement, payer policies, and pharmaceutical contracting

  • Familiarity with 340B program, GPO contracts, CMS billing rules, and drug pricing

  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PGY-1 residency or advanced training in pharmacy administration, health economics, or business (MBA, MHA)

  • Experience with Cerner EHR system

  • Experience in specialty or infusion pharmacy services
