Join Labcorp as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and contribute to Labcorp’s mission: “Improving Health, Improving Lives.”
This role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring accurate, timely test results for quality patient care.
🕒 Work Schedule
Weekdays: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
5 x 8-hour shifts
Rotating weekends
💼 Key Responsibilities
Determine specimen acceptability for testing per established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
Assist with specimen processing when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE
🎓 Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or non-traditional degree meeting CLIA & state requirements
Minimum 1 year clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree
Florida State Medical Technologist License
ASCP or AMT certification preferred
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Proficient with computers; familiarity with LIS is a plus
High attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills
Must pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed
