Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Immunogenetics/Histocompatibility (Evening Shift)

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (rotating weekends and holidays)
Compensation: $53.31 – $71.04/hour
Work Mode: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time (Staff – Career)


Job Summary:

UCLA Health is seeking a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to support organ transplantation through advanced immunogenetics and histocompatibility testing. Working evening shifts in a cutting-edge laboratory, you will help ensure precise, timely lab results that directly impact patient transplant success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex laboratory tests, including immunophenotyping and flow cytometry

  • Conduct and document quality control in alignment with ASHI, state, and federal regulations

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment per SOP and manufacturer protocols

  • Input, retrieve, and verify data via Medical Center LIS and UIC LIS systems

  • Accurately complete CAP survey samples and competency tests within deadlines

  • Ensure compliance with accrediting bodies and UCLA Health standards


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (active)

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, biology, or related field

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a clinical lab setting (preferred in immunogenetics or histocompatibility)

  • Experience with immunophenotyping, flow cytometry, and molecular testing techniques

  • Familiarity with ASHI standards and CLIA compliance

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in complex diagnostic testing

  • Ability to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
