    Job Title: Clinical Budget Analyst (Temporary Position)

    Location: Remote (reporting to Portsmouth, NH office)

    Job Summary:

    The Clinical Budget Analyst will oversee and manage clinical vendor and investigative site budgets for Global Clinical Operations. This role involves budget template and playbook development, budget negotiation escalations, and ensuring timely budget finalization. The Analyst will collaborate with vendors, investigative sites, Clinical Operation Project Teams, Finance, Legal, and Clinical Procurement to align and deliver on business objectives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage clinical budgets for vendors and investigative sites, adhering to SOPs, regulations, and financial practices.
    • Develop budget templates and negotiation playbooks for each study, aligned with the Clinical Investigation Plan.
    • Serve as the primary contact for resolving budget escalations.
    • Work with internal stakeholders (Legal, Clinical Operations, Procurement, Finance) on issues requiring senior leadership approval, such as insurance language and excessive costs.
    • Collaborate with clinical trial managers on protocol-specific site budget questions.
    • Ensure clear final Budget Exhibit for accurate and efficient site payments.
    • Use study protocols and fair market value databases for long-range investigator grant forecasts.
    • Prepare site budget performance analyses and reports to support cost control.
    • Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing budget status updates.
    • Oversee clinical trial vendor KPIs for accuracy, timeliness, and global spend transparency.
    • Support financial audits and inspections.
    • Identify and escalate project and quality issues; support corrective/preventive actions.
    • Contribute to departmental Objectives and Key Results (OKRs); recommend process improvements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in business, finance, or accounting required.
    • Experience in clinical research within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment required.
    • Global clinical trial experience preferred.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical/device commercialization process and clinical trials.
    • Familiarity with financial/budgeting systems and tools preferred.
    • Knowledge of best practices in clinical study budgeting and fair market value (FMV).
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems proactively, and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise, and timely information.
    • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in a global, cross-functional environment.
    • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently with limited oversight.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare evaluative summary reports.
