Job Purpose:
The Chemist, Quality Control is responsible for collecting, logging, and managing samples (IP, bulk, and finished goods), preparing documentation, and supporting QC testing operations in compliance with GMP standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect, log, and label all QC samples with unique IDs; record in QC Master Schedule and ELB.
Prepare testing documentation packages: sample lists, CoAs, testing method templates/SOPs, labels, placebo materials, HPLC columns, and standards.
Assign product codes in the QC weekly schedule.
Manage reconciliation and disposal of tested samples.
Issue laboratory logbooks and provide samples and GMP documentation for testing.
Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies (glassware, vials, syringes, etc.).
Complete all GMP documentation accurately and promptly.
Participate in internal, customer, regulatory, and safety audits.
Complete assigned training and maintain personal training records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibility (Customer-facing roles only):
Report any adverse event related to company products to the pharmacovigilance/drug safety department within one business day.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (Chemistry or related field preferred).
Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of chemistry and applied math skills.
Understanding of GMP regulations.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and troubleshooting skills.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
Generally pleasant work environment.
Occasional exposure to chemical odors, noise, and raw material residues during testing.
Moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, and light lifting/moving with assistance.
